The Wedding Weekend!

I have been waiting for some pictures before I sat down to work on the blog.  I have pictures of the bridal luncheon and the girls getting ready for the wedding!

The weekend began with the guys going to play golf.  Bladen did not play, as he does not play golf, so he "played" host to all the guys.  That means visiting each group that was playing and plying them with beer for the day!  They all managed to show up to the rehearsal in the upright position so they must have behaved somewhat!

The girls all met for lunch at Poe's on Sullivan's Island for lunch and some serious beach time!  Blye, Liz's mother, and I went early to capture a table as we had been told they fill up fast and boy do they!  As we sat there waiting for the girls to make their appearance we had about four or five people try to sit down and take over the table!  The bridesmaids that were in town all came out for lunch and then they headed over to the beach for some extra sun!  Beth, Kara, Claire, Julie, Jocelyn and Liz all made it!  Hannah had to work and Liz's sisters, Kate and Molly, had plane trouble the night before and did not get in til later and Nicole had not gotten in town yet..    Liz handed out her goodie bags to the girls and lunch was really really good!  They all had a great time.

I spent the rest of the afternoon rounding up family members that were coming into town and just doing errands that always seem to crop up during weddings!

Everyone was told to be at Boone Hall at 5:45 so we could get started by 6 p.m. but alas, there is always one late person!

Bob and I stayed thru the first walk thru and then had to head on over to the Citadel Beach House for the rehearsal dinner.    I must say that the food was great and everyone was having a great time.  Of course my family was up to some foolishness!  I don't think I even want to know who came up with the "Jowler Wave" but I must say it was very interesting!  I do know that the Pagano group can be down right crazy so I am putting this on them!

All the toasts went very well.  Bob told them all that if it were left up to Bladen to do the rehearsal dinner we would have been having a "Kegger" party and I must say ....... he was probably right!  Billy Little did a great job with his toast!  Jocelyn, the maid of honor did a great job!  And then there was Julie!  Julie did a sorority rap for us that was really funny!  I think Julie has another profession is she so chooses!  Poor Bladen was probably worried about me.  He knew I was going to get up and say a few words and rightly so, he should have been worried.  BUT, being the good mother that I am, I let him off the hook and behaved myself.  I did pass on to Liz  Bladen's little sailor suit from when he was a little boy!

Bladen and Liz had big smiles all night and that is what you want for your children ..... happiness!  This is the end of this blog.  I will be back on in a few days to work on the actual wedding day!

Bye for now..........

WEDDING!!!!!!

Well I am back in Charleston for wedding #2!  Six months since the last wedding so I guess it is time to do another one!  Bladen and Liz will be married on Saturday and we are all slowly coming into town.   I went to Terri's (remember The Gown Boutique of Charleston!) to try my dress on for the last time and it looks great.  She will deliver my dress and Liz's dress Saturday morning.  Liz's dress is so pretty and I know she is going to be a gorgeous bride!

Hannah's house will be full with guests.  Her cousins will be staying with her for the first time and her good friend Jessica and her husband Arv.  I am sure they will all have a great time together!  Those crazy Brannon kids!!!!!

Bladen will be driving in tomorrow.  He and the guys will be playing golf on Friday and luncheon on Sat.  Had to find something to keep the guys busy during the day Sat. to keep them out of trouble while the girls are getting ready!!!  Bob also will be driving in Thursday so once he gets here then the gang will all be here!!!!!

Well that is all for now.  Will update later!!!!!!

This week has been a beautiful week.  I love all the plants coming into bloom.  All the rhododendron are in bloom and the azaleas are just about pooped out but they are still pretty.  Everything is just so green and fresh and finally spring is really here!  I thought for sure we would go from late winter straight into summer but spring decided to make an entrance!  The grass was cut today and there is nothing that smells better then freshly cut grass!    I sure hope we don't have drought conditions again this summer and that everything will stay as beautiful as now!!

Hannah is up in Maryland with Jason at her ten year high school reunion at Garrison Forest.  My sister is up there as well so I am sure they will meet up some time over the weekend.  Hannah says the school looks nothing like it did when she went there!  Lots of improvements but also lots of disappointment as they have not renovated any of the dorms and looks like they really are trying to phase out boarding students.  That would be a terrible loss.  There just are not that many all girls boarding schools left.  My mother also went to Garrison so there are three generations in the family that have attended there!  At least Hannah got over the flu before she went but she now is plagued with allergies!

Bob and I are heading down to Atlanta on Saturday to see Bladen and Liz.  They were here last weekend and loaded up the truck with desk, chaise,  dogs, etc. and did not have room to take their wedding gifts home so we will run them down for them.  Hard to believe that in a week we will all be in Charleston for their wedding!  Been a long engagement but this week is going to fly by!

If any of you guys ever do a wedding in Charleston you must call Terri Espy at Gown Boutique of Charleston and Stacey Fraunfelter of Red Letter events.  Both Hannah and Liz got their dresses with Terri and they are just beautiful and Stacey took all the stress off of planning a wedding!

I am looking forward to seeing my sister, brother and mother all in Charleston!  Great time for all the cousins to catch up too!  We have lots of friends coming to the wedding and it will be fun to spend time with them also!  Life just can't get any better right now!

Enjoy spring everyone!!!!!
