I have been waiting for some pictures before I sat down to work on the blog. I have pictures of the bridal luncheon and the girls getting ready for the wedding!
The weekend began with the guys going to play golf. Bladen did not play, as he does not play golf, so he "played" host to all the guys. That means visiting each group that was playing and plying them with beer for the day! They all managed to show up to the rehearsal in the upright position so they must have behaved somewhat!
The girls all met for lunch at Poe's on Sullivan's Island for lunch and some serious beach time! Blye, Liz's mother, and I went early to capture a table as we had been told they fill up fast and boy do they! As we sat there waiting for the girls to make their appearance we had about four or five people try to sit down and take over the table! The bridesmaids that were in town all came out for lunch and then they headed over to the beach for some extra sun! Beth, Kara, Claire, Julie, Jocelyn and Liz all made it! Hannah had to work and Liz's sisters, Kate and Molly, had plane trouble the night before and did not get in til later and Nicole had not gotten in town yet.. Liz handed out her goodie bags to the girls and lunch was really really good! They all had a great time.
I spent the rest of the afternoon rounding up family members that were coming into town and just doing errands that always seem to crop up during weddings!
Everyone was told to be at Boone Hall at 5:45 so we could get started by 6 p.m. but alas, there is always one late person!
Bob and I stayed thru the first walk thru and then had to head on over to the Citadel Beach House for the rehearsal dinner. I must say that the food was great and everyone was having a great time. Of course my family was up to some foolishness! I don't think I even want to know who came up with the "Jowler Wave" but I must say it was very interesting! I do know that the Pagano group can be down right crazy so I am putting this on them!
All the toasts went very well. Bob told them all that if it were left up to Bladen to do the rehearsal dinner we would have been having a "Kegger" party and I must say ....... he was probably right! Billy Little did a great job with his toast! Jocelyn, the maid of honor did a great job! And then there was Julie! Julie did a sorority rap for us that was really funny! I think Julie has another profession is she so chooses! Poor Bladen was probably worried about me. He knew I was going to get up and say a few words and rightly so, he should have been worried. BUT, being the good mother that I am, I let him off the hook and behaved myself. I did pass on to Liz Bladen's little sailor suit from when he was a little boy!
Bladen and Liz had big smiles all night and that is what you want for your children ..... happiness! This is the end of this blog. I will be back on in a few days to work on the actual wedding day!
Bye for now..........
